Inspired by the book Where The Crawdads Sing.

Kya is a young girl abandoned by her parents; a frightened mother and a violent, alcoholic and abusive father. She is left to live in a shack in the marshlands of North Carolina. Kya learns to fish and look after herself, becoming an expert survivalist, despite everything she experiences.

It’s an uplifting story that inspired me to musically describe her love for nature in her peaceful surroundings.
